What a great Park.

Karumba Point Sunset Caravan park. What a great place to stay.

We set off from Brunswick Victoria to check out the outback round the Gulf of Carpentaria area after some friends told us about Karumba and Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park. Friends who stayed there told us about the place and to be frank, I thought they were stretching it a bit when they told how good it was. I can tell you they were not kidding. Karumba and Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park are the best. We had a fun time and stayed 2 months. The fishing in Karumba, in the Gulf of Carpentaria is amazing. Best I have ever seen in Australia and I have just about been everywhere.You really can catch a big Barramundi here and there are plenty of other varieties. We went on a couple of charters and caught heaps of fish.

The guests in the park were friendly and the park has everything you need and the showers, toilets and wash area is spotless. The management is very helpful without being intrusive. It is an all tourist park so everyone is out to enjoy themselves. No grumpies. There is a pub 300 yards up from the park and the park is right on the gulf. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied here. Tours. sightseeing, swimming, flying etc. We are now going to come here 2 times every year.

My opinion!! The best park in the outback and the best fishing in Australia.
