Sunset Caravan Park News
Edition 1.
By Arch Armstrong.
Hello friends and welcome to the first edition of Sunset Caravan Park news. This is the first newsletter from Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park in the Gulf of Carpentaria, where the out back meets the sea. Hopefully you will find it informative, interesting and enjoyable.
Whilst there has been good rainfall around most of Far North Queensland not much has been seen at Karumba Point. Never the less the grass is green, the migratory birds are in and the Barramundi season opened in January. March is fast approaching and this is a good time to get a line in for the early Barra. If you are into bird watching, March is a great time to catch up with our feathered friends. If you just want to meet some very nice people, chill out, take a few tours and start your year off on the right foot, March is a great time to kick it off. Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park is starting to fill so make a forward booking and come on up.
The Gulf Barramundi Restocking Association (GBRA) recently harvested a world record of fingerlings. They released 100,000 into the Normanton River ensuring continued great fishing in the area. So if you like to fish for Barramundi and a lot of other species, it does not get better than this anywhere. As they say up here. "It is the Karumba experience." So come on up and get some. You won't be disappointed.
At this time of year it is a sea of green around Karumba Point and the surrounding countryside. The lush green makes a total contrast to the dry and at this time of year the sunrises are just not to be missed. Spectacular reds, yellows and greens set into a background of blues reds and black are common place. Birdlife is prolific with many species easily seen. The flat lands look absolutely stunning!
Over the last 3 months the staff at Karumba have been making lots of positive improvements to the park. Improvements have been made to amenities blocks, pool, restaurant, fish cleaning area and shop, camp kitchen and barbecue areas. The new managers are friendly, know what they are about and are dedicated to providing you with the very best of service at all times. Your comfort and enjoyment are paramount. We will listen to what you have to say and we will hear what you have to say. We appreciate you suggestions and if possible we will implement them. So keep them coming. Let us know what you think
Have a nice day and I look forward to seeing you up at Karumba, at Karumba Point in the Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park in the outback by the sea where the fishing is fabulous, the people are friendly the beer is cold and the days are long.
Kind Regards
Arch Armstrong
S. If you are passing or staying in Port Douglas you must check out the new Irish Restaurant and Bar in the main street which is Macrossan street. A most unusual Irish restaurant with huge great tasting meals, cold beer and superb service. The staff are excellent and by the smiles on their faces it is easy to see they are pleased to see you. Believe you me it is a must, so don't miss the opportunity if you are in the area.
