Sunset Caravan Park
Edition 6
By Arch Armstrong

Hello and welcome to the February 2005 edition of the Sunset Caravan Park Newsletter. Our 6th edition. Hope you had a great Christmas and your new year is shaping up to be a great one. May you all be well and looking forward to your migration to the outback and Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park in Karumba Point, where the outback meets the sea. We are here waiting and ready to be of service. Don't forget to stop at Paddy's Bar and Restaurant of Port Douglas on your way up if you are going near or stopping at Port Douglas. The beer is always cold and the tucker is only the best. Make sure you try the Guinness Pie. It is unbeatable. The battered chips are great also.
As usual we have had some great catches through the green season. Check out the website gallery. I am also reliably informed that Jude (one half of Pete and Jude of Blue Denim our now famous outback singing sensations) has just caught herself a very nice blue salmon.( And I thought they were rehearsing their singing ) However it is just another sign of some of the fabulous fishing to be had in Karumba in the Savannah Way in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Remember the Barramundi are ready to run and the crabs are waiting to be caught, so get those bookings in for February and March now. If you are thinking of coming up for any other months it would also pay to book now to avoid disappointment. And of course there are lots of other things to do in Karumba if you are not into fishing. Have a look at our website www.sunsetcp.com.au and you will see what I mean. Remember, apart from powered and un-powered sites and tent sites, we have cabins and villas so you can be very comfortable. Just give us a ring on Phone 07 47459277, Fax 47459480 or contact us on our email sunsetcp@bigpond.com.au or info@sunsetcp.com.au or through our website, www.sunsetcp.com.au
In this day and age it is not often that I come across good price, product and service, but now and then something stands out. For several years now I have been getting a newsletter from a guy called Noel Whittaker. Noel has been around for a long time in the financial environment and has written a lot of books on the subject, spoken on TV and radio and at many seminars. Friends, this guy puts out some great advice on financial investments and management. And he explains things in simple to understand fashion. It is a must look. So go to www.noelwhittaker.com.au and have a look around. Find out how to make those extra dollars and you can holiday longer in Karumba. You can easily arrange for Noel to send you his free monthly newsletter with some really great information.
On the road up to Karumba there are a few places you may wish to stop at. They are all good value and worth checking out. If you are coming from Cairns direction when you get to Mt Surprise stop at the Mobil gas station on your left hand side for gas and a good feed. Try out their corn beef and pickle sandwiches. They taste just great and they are a real sized sandwich. The staff are real nice people and always have a smile on their face. They have lots of other good tucker as well. If you like good meat and especially beef sausages you just must call in at Gulf Meat Supplies on the left hand side just as you come into Normanton. Believe you me, if you like good snags (sausages) then call in and get yourself a kilo or two. You won't regret it. Tell Doug the manager, that Arch from Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park said to drop in. Who knows, he might throw in an extra snag. When you get to Karumba Point and check into Sunset Caravan Park, cross the road to the Sunset Tavern and wet your throat. Great views, cold beer, excellent service and they are always pleased to see you. They have Pub Tab, and TV so you can watch the footy, golf or have a punt. By the way, if you want to check about road or weather conditions or how to get here, just log on to the Karumba Point Sunset Caravan website at, www.sunsetcp.com.au For weather, just click the Weather tab on the menu bar. For how to get here, click Park on the menu bar and then click on How to get here. You can then see detailed maps of the current situation.

Kind Regards
Arch Armstrong
Oh! And have a good day.
