Sunset Caravan Park
Edition 14
By Arch Armstrong.

Hello friends and welcome to edition 14 of the Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park Newsletter.

We are off to a flying start for this month, the month of February and believe you me, February is already turning out to be a cracker. Ladies and Gentlemen, if February is anything to go by we are in for a great year of fun, freedom, great days and nights up in Karumba and Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park. Right now we are catching some great fish and the Barramundi season is open and the start to the season is producing some great catches. If you are thinking of coming up do so early and you won't regret it. Come up right now. Just get in that 4WD or the Van or the mobile home and just get up here. Why not come up early? Stay that extra couple of weeks and get away from that same old boring days and have some fun. You deserve it!! You have no excuse. Just get up and do it!! We are waiting here to be of service to you.

Friends, I thought I would give you a quick run down on some of what you can look forward to over the next couple of months at Karumba, Karumba Point, Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park and the surrounding areas. If you are looking for that outback experience, those special times that you will never forget, to stay in tranquil surrounding underneath starry skies and fabulous sunsets with some great fun times on the agenda then this is what is coming up. This is what you can look forward to in the Savannah Way in sunny North Queensland where the outback meets the sea. Where the big fish roam, the beer tastes great and probably the toughest decision you need to make all day is what you are going to have for dinner.

Fishing.

Mates, the fishing that is coming up is mind blowing.

If you are into fishing or even if you are not, now is a great time to be in Karumba in the Outback by the sea. Not only can you catch some great fish, there are heaps of prizes and the place is really buzzing so come on up for a couple of days, a couple of weeks or a couple of months. We would love to see you and make your stay something to remember.

Maybe you are into bird watching and I don't mean the ones with two legs and no feathers. Check this list of some of the birdlife around the Karumba area. It is a small example of what you can see.

Freckled ducks, orange chat, crimson chats, budgerigars, cockatiels, diamond doves, red-backed kingfishers, spiny cheeked honeyeaters, striped honey eaters, black honey eaters, red-capped robins, flock pigeons, various other types of finches, emu, Australian bush turkey, brolgas, pelicans, herons, eagles, falcons, hawks, black cockatoos, white cockatoos, etc. Mates, Karumba, on the way to Karumba and on the way back you will see some fabulous birdlife and right now and through March and April is the best time to be here for the birds.

Of course around the park we still have our famous Friday night roasts, our weekly craft days, happy hour and the various daily happy hour groups where you just take it easy and enjoy the moment. Don't forget we are 150 yards away from the tavern which has Pubtab, sports TV, tasty tucker and a great atmosphere right on the beach where you can check out those fantastic sunsets over a nice cool drink.

By the way, if you want to come up by bus to Karumba there is a regular service that runs between Cairns and Karumba three return services per week. The route is operated by the Trans North Bus and Coach Company.

The month of February always bring St Valentine's day so in this newsletter I thought you might appreciate a little bit of monologue in that area. A little bit of Aussie sentimentality so to speak. A little bit of the rough tear jerker!!

Of course I love you darling, your a top notch bird. And when I say your gorgeous, I mean every word.

So your bum is on the big side. I don't mind a bit of flab. It means that when I'm ready, there's something there to grab.

So your belly isn't flat no more. I tell ya, I don't care, so long as when I cuddle ya, I can get my arms around there.

No sheila who is your age, has nice round perky breasts. They just gave in to gravity, but I know u did ya best.

I'm tellin ya the truth now, I never tell you lies. I think it's very sexy that u have dimples on ya thighs.

I swear on my Nanna's grave now, the moment that we met. I thought u was good as I was ever gonna get.

No matter wot u look like, I will always love ya dear. Now shut up while the footy's on, and fetch another beer!!

Not exactly Banjo Patterson but the guy gave it his best shot.

A thought for the day.

Sometimes life's shadows are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.

And friends, if you are not living the life you want you are not living.

So come on up to Karumba and get some of that good living.

Look forward to seeing you up here soon.

Kindest Regards
Arch Armstrong
Oh! and have a great day!!!
