Wow what a month ahead we have. We are now in the prime of the season with heaps of activities and functions on. This is a croc that could be possibly described as the “Croc of the Year”.

Burke and Wills Grand Adventure
From Monday until Thursday the Burke and Wills Grand Adventure Story will be told at the Entertainment Area commencing at 4pm. Come along and enjoy this play that has drawn attention across the state and has featured on ABC Radio. After the performance there is Q & A time and any donations are greatly appreciated.
Double Header Wednesday
This Wednesday sees a triple header of entertainment at the Entertainment Area starting at 4pm with the Burke and Wills Grand Adventure Performance followed by the big decider between Queensland Maroons and some team from south of the border, who are they again…… Mexico?. So anyhoo bring your beverages down and enjoy the afternoon and evening of great fun and entertainment. Don’t forget to order early for your pizzas as we will be very busy.
Every Wednesday we cook beautiful wood fired pizzas that need to be pre-booked at Reception. Get in early to secure your pizza for the time slot you would like. We do Meatlovers, Hawaiian, Satay Chicken and BBQ Chicken And Feta. Half and half options are available. We are already receiving pizza orders so get in quick as we can only cook a certain amount up on the night.
Roast Night is Friday Night
This Friday we are cooking up Roast Lamb and veges along with mint sauce and/or gravy. Happy Hour starts at 5pm with live entertainment from Trevor Stewart. Please throw a donation for Trevor into his case. Dinner service is around 6.45pm all going well and the café opens up after the lucky door prizes are drawn which is done straight after dinner. The cost is $15 per Adult and $7.50 per child under 12 years. It is BYO Plate, Cutlery and beverages so book now at reception for a great evening out. Bookings close once seating is full or by 12pm Friday. See you there.
Free Sausage Sizzle
Our next free sausage sizzle will be on Tuesday 11th of July at 12 midday at the entertainment area. Come along and enjoy a snag sanga.
As part of our service to you we arrange and book tours free of charge. We cover a wide range of options like fishing charters, cruises and even a vintage train ride!
We do bookings for Kerry D Fishing Charters, Karumba Saltwater Fishing Charters, Karumba Fishing Adventures, Croc and Crab Cruises, The Ferryman and Queensland Rails’ Gulflander train in Normanton.
Come in and talk to our friendly reception staff about experiencing all of what Karumba has to offer. We have brochures on all of these activities and we are more than happy to assist you.
Our Café is now open Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 3pm. Fridays the café is only open from 9am to 11am due to cooking for the Friday Roast. We sell coffees and cakes along with sweet treats like Ice Cream Cones, Tiramisu, Pancakes etc. Check out the menu on the café window.
Sunset Origin Bingo
Every Wednesday at 9.30am we hold our bingo at the Entertainment Area. Order your $5 Mango smoothie at the cafe before 9.30am for the half time break. The cost is $10 per book and all money gets put into prizes for each game. Please assist us by bringing smaller notes. See you there!!
Art and Craft
Every Thursdays we have art and craft get togethers at 1pm at the Entertainment Area. Free Tea and Coffee provided for participants.
Barras on the Run
With the warmer weather this last week some barra have been caught in the Norman River. Wayne caught this barra at midnight from near the rotunda at around midnight on squid… Brian Smith then followed this up with another barra. Brian is now preparing tutorials on “How to catch fish” and we will have more information on this when it comes to hand. Rod Kalms has already signed up saying, “I need an expert to teach me the way”. We wish Rod all the best on his new quest for knowledge. Here is Brian’s Barra…..
Got Milk ?
We have the cheapest 2 litre milk in all of Karumba at a great price of $3.80. We won’t be bagging up the milk anymore, just putting it out for general sale. Fresh milk arrives every Thursday mornings and is available from 9am for sale.
Book Trevor Stewart
If you have a group of people that wish to celebrate something like a birthday or a wedding anniversary or just want your own entertainer for the evening than you can book our entertainer to perform just for you. Please register your interest with Adrian up at the office and we will set it up for you.
Sunday Happy Hour Session
This month we will have a Sunday Session from 4.30pm to 6pm where you can BYO Beverages and be entertained by Trevor Stewart at the Entertainment Area.
Entertainment Area Usage
This area is utilised for functions and for WiFi. The TV is placed on a timer at close of office at 5pm to switch off around 9pm. If you wish to watch a certain channel please organise with reception and it is a first in best dressed situation.
The powerpoints located in this area are for staff usage only and no persons are permitted to go beyond the counter or the rope. At no time are any pets allowed for any reason as this is is a food service area.
Office and Shop Hours
Our office/shop is open daily from 7.30am to 5.00pm daily. We stock a wide range of clothing, souvenirs, bait, ice, mini mart grocery line, tackle and caravan plumbing accessories. Come in and check it out. If you don’t see it just ask as we may have it.
